Are you looking for books that make you feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside? Well you have come to the right place! My top three romance books are Quarantine; a love story, Windfall, and Love, Life, and the List.
The first book, Quarantine; a love story by Katie Cicatelli-Kuc, is about two teenagers that are both flying to New York to see family, get stopped by a bunch of biohazard people. The people from biohazard are studying a disease called tropical mono, and if anyone on the plane had a fever, they would be put into thirty-day quarantine. The girl Flora faked a fever and kissed Oliver so they would go to quarantine together. Now they are stuck in a room together, forced to learn things about each other, including secrets. This book is very well written and will definitely make you tear up towards the end.
My second book, Windfall by Jennifer E. Smith, is about three best friends named Teddy, Alice, and Leo. Alice has had feelings for Teddy, but she does not know how to tell him. So for his birthday, she jokingly gives him a lottery ticket and a card that confesses her feelings for him. On the night she gives it to him, the card slips under the fridge so only the ticket remains. The next morning, Teddy finds out he won the lottery! This book truly demonstrates friendship and true love. I highly recommend this book.
My last and final book Love, Life, and the List, by Kasie West, is about two best friends named Cooper and Abby make a list of things to accomplish during the summer. Abby has feelings for Cooper but the first time she told Cooper about her feelings, he clearly did not feel the same. Abby also has a passion for art and is determined to get into the art museum that her boss is hosting. She also has to deal with a paranoid mother who is too afraid to even go out of her own house. Now Abby has to go through the whole summer juggling her feelings, skills, and family. This book definitely demonstrates heartbreak, friendship, and family.
This year we might have a lot of time on our hands because we may be doing online classes. So here are a few book series that I think you will be able to enjoy.
My first choice would be Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard, by Rick Riordan. This series is about Norse mythology, the main character is Magnus Chase who is killed and goes to Valhalla where he lives on a floor in a hotel with a bunch of unique and funny neighbors. Until he finds out about a quest for the Sword of Summer. In the first book which is The Sword of Summer, it is very entertaining and hilarious.
My second choice would be The Chronicles of Narnia by CS Lewis. This series is about four children named Peter, Lucy, Edmund, and Susan who are taken away from their parents because of a war. They are brought to an elder man’s house and they discover a wardrobe that teleports them to a different place. They meet many different creatures that they befriend and go on adventures. This series is definitely worth your time.
My third and final series that I recommend is A Series of Unfortunate Events. If you like happy endings and happiness I do not think you should read this. This series is about three children named Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire whose parents die in a fire. They are sent to live with a rude and selfish actor named Count Olaf. He is after the Baudelaire fortune and will stop at nothing to get it. In this series accompany the Baudelaire children barely escaping Count Olaf and his evil theater troupe. This series is one of my favorite book series, and if you end up reading it, hopefully, you will enjoy it as well.
In conclusion these are my top book series to read this school year.
Some people may find it hard to find books that they like, so I am here to help. These are three books that you will absolutely find captivating. The names of the books are called Counting by Sevens When You Reach Me, and The Fault in Our Stars.
The first book Counting by Sevens by Holly G. Sloan is about a 12-year-old girl named Willow Chance. Willow is very smart and loves nature and diagnosing people with medical problems. She has never really had a great connection with anybody besides her adoptive parents. Then suddenly her parents die in a car accident and she is confused. She then starts to realize that she can connect to people. This book is extremely interesting and you will find it hard to put it down.
The second book When You Reach Me by Rebecca Stead is about a girl named Miranda that starts receiving mysterious letters from a person that knows her. Yet what’s even stranger is that the letters contain events that have not happened yet. The letters make her think she can prevent a very tragic death from happening until they make her think she is too late. This book will have you wondering what will happen next in each chapter.
My third and final book The Fault in Our Stars by John Green is about a girl named Hazel Grace who has cancer attends a support group. She then meets a mysterious boy named Augustus Waters who also had cancer. They end up bonding and learn stuff about each other. They later find out about Hazel’s favorite book author and how they can talk to him about how they felt about the book ends. This book is one hundred percent worth your time and if you have to choose one book this would be my choice.
In conclusion these three books are my top three choices for you to read this summer.
The top five books that I think would make isolation move by faster are The Hunger Games, The Maze Runner, Kira-Kira, Harry Potter And The Sorcerers Stone, and Once.
The Hunger Games is my number one choice because it is one of the most well-written books that I have ever read. The book’s main character is Katniss Everdeen, a sixteen-year-old girl, that is chosen for the reaping. She has to compete against twenty-four other opponents to be able to live in peace. Her one problem though is that she has to kill everyone to win. This book is very descriptive and paints a vivid picture inside your head.
Next, my second book choice would be The Maze Runner. This is because the book has so many twists and turns that it just compels you to read more. The Maze Runner is about a boy named Thomas whose memory has been wiped clean. He is surrounded by boys whose memories have also been wiped and their main goal is to find a way out. The main problem though is that they have to make it past the grievers. Grievers are big metal machines that kill mercilessly.
Kira-Kira is a heartwarming book about a girl and her family. This book is about a Japanese girl named Kate whose moving to Iowa because her father’s store shut down. Now she is forced to live in a small apartment in Georgia while her parents work in a Japanese power plant. This story demonstrates family virtues, kindness, and friendship. I highly recommend this book.
Harry Potter and The Sorcerers Stone is a novel about a boy named Harry who lives with a rude and unkind family named the Dursley’s. Then, Harry finds out that he is a wizard and joins a school of witchcraft and wizardry named Hogwarts. Harry makes friends and foes along his way. I recommend this book because the book takes your mind to a whole different world that shows that everything is possible.
My last and final book is Once. This book is a thrilling and nerve-racking story about a boy named Felix who is escaping the Nazis. As he is on the run, he makes a friend named Zelda, a four-year-old girl. Morris Gleitzman writes this story in a way that makes you feel as if you are in the book with them. In conclusion, this book is also highly recommended.
In conclusion, if you want to escape your boring days of isolation I highly recommend these five books. They will not only exercise your brain, but they will transport you to a whole new world.
